A couple of weeks ago I brought up a badass girl to play on my show. She totally killed it, as expected. Her real name is Margot but she plays as I.E.
She raps and sings, has some dance moves and plays with awesome cheap rave light wands. I’ve seen her play a bunch of times and she always wins over the crowd. She’s just so goddamned adorable and funny. Also, her between song banter is some of the finest.
In addition to being one of the more entertaining performers I’ve seen lately, she also puts out a really funny zine called Totally Mag! I typically hate zines but this one is so funny I’ve even posted her horoscopes on my bathroom wall. My favorites are:
Capricorn – Satan is coming and he’s coming to rape you! You always get what you want.
Pisces – You’ve been working hard and finally you’re done and you’re still broke. Fuck that! Get drunk.
Sagittarius – You’re the life of the party but the party is totally dead! Quit being a showoff and show me those titties!
I would have posted this earlier, but I wanted to post a link to her ringtone, which I still don’t have. Maybe we’ll be blessed and she’ll put it in the comments.
–Technical note: Something happened with the recording and the left side was totally buzzing and crackling, so I made the right side into both channels…so this is in MONO. Oh well, it still rules.
