Adventure is my new favorite band. With out question this kid kills it.

Adventure is a one man band from Baltimore and part of the whole Wham City Crew who seem to have put out a lot of my favorite stuff this past year like Dan Deacon and Video Hippos.

But Adventure really blew me away the other night. At this show stuffed with the kids that just came out for the free sparks and to hear a different DJ play the same Justice songs and the same old skool remixes Adventure made the dance party his with a lap top and a Keyboard. I had not danced that hard in a long time.

Hes got a hard on for the beat crusher, but so do I. It sounds like video game but there is a lot more to it. He remindes me a little of Pluxus but only in some of the sounds. I think when I frist heard Pluxus I really just wanted to be hearing Adventure even if I didn’t know it at the time. At one point I think he even went into a cover of the theme to The Never Ending Story but I can not be certain I had alot of absinthe that night and maybe that’s just what I wanted to hear. Before I learned of Wham City this year the only things I really knew about Baltimore I had learned from John Waters’ movies and Homicide: Life on the Street, I think I have been missing out.
