I actually wish this wasn’t made by Man or Astro-man? First of all, I hate the question mark at the end of their name. Completely irritating. Second, I could care less about their music. All of it. Box it up and ship it out of my life forever.

That said, this track is completely awesome because the only instrument is an old school dot matrix printer. Oh how I loved the dot matrix printer. By far one of the most frustratingly slow, yet romantically entertaining inventions of all time. Like watching videos of crayons being made or cigarettes funneling into packages. I wish I still had a dot matrix printer, I would use it for all of my written correspondences.

This song is a very fine piece of work. It comes from Man or Astro-man?’s final record, A Spectrum Of Infinite Scale (2000). In doing research for this post, I found a review of a Canadian performance where the reviewer calls this track (”A Simple Text File”) an “international super-hit.” I find that hard to believe, but what do I know?
