I used to think that this track was from some independent filmmaker who wasn’t really famous but should be. Then I started writing this post and googled the director of this film and realized that he’s quite accomplished and doing very well in life. Good for him. This shit is still great.

This comes from a cd-r sent to KXLU back in 2001 that just said “Discover Hip Hop: Audio from a short film by Brian Beletic.” It’s 9 minutes of an insanely funny fake infomercial selling hip hop. Sounds lame, but it’s not. Little did I know, but Brian Beletic has directed a shitload of really good commercials, including this one for IKEA where a kid is playing with a vibrator. He’s also done a ton of hip hop videos including a new one for Lady Sovereign.  Like I said, good for him. I wish I could find the video that accompanies this track though…
